A recent-message window means the app replies based on the last stretch of conversation. Fine for one evening. Come back a week later, though, and the earlier context may be gone. What We Could Not Confirm

On paper, Nomi looks strong: short-, medium- and long-term conversation memory, voice messages, hands-free calls, generated selfies and subscriber video features. What we could not confirm is relationship progression, or whether photos can be requested inside the same thread. Nomi's free message and media quotas weren't confirmed either.

Replika has been around longer than anyone in the space, with persistent avatar identity and memory. Voice calls sit on paid tiers, and romantic/ERP modes are restricted for newer accounts — a real catch if romance is the point. We could not confirm its memory scope, in-chat photos or video.
